Bank statement analyzer

Open a statement from your bank or UPI app and see where the money went: by category, by person and by month, plus the payments that repeat every month. Your file is read on this device and is never uploaded.

Your file stays on this device. It is read in your browser and is never uploaded, saved or seen by AQVIK.Aapki file isi device par rehti hai. Browser mein hi padhi jaati hai, kahin upload ya save nahi hoti.

Made-up data, to see how it works.

For your own understanding only. Categories, payees and repeating payments are guessed from the transaction descriptions and may be wrong; your bank's statement is the official record. AQVIK does not connect to your bank and never sees your file. This is not financial advice.

Want this every month, kept up to date? Try AQVIK.

How it's calculated

The file is read by your browser. CSV and Excel files are read directly; PDFs are read with pdf.js, which places each piece of text by its position to rebuild the table.

The header row (Date, Description, Debit, Credit, Balance and similar names) tells which column is which. You can change any column before the analysis.

Rows without a date are joined to the transaction above (long descriptions) or ignored (totals and page headers).

Categories come from words in the description; payees come from the UPI or transfer details in it. Both are best guesses you can change.

A payment repeats monthly when the same payee is debited about the same amount (within 15%) about a month apart, in at least two months, or three for statements of three months or more.

All sums are exact to the paisa; percentages are rounded for display.

Questions

Is it safe to open my bank statement here?

Your file is read by your own browser on your own device. It is not uploaded to AQVIK or anyone else, and nothing is saved after you close the page. You can even switch off the internet after the page loads and it still works.

Which banks and apps does it work with?

It looks for the transaction table in any statement with a date column and amount columns, which covers the CSV, Excel and PDF downloads of most Indian banks and UPI apps. If yours is not read correctly, choose the columns yourself, or send us the problem report, which contains no personal details.

Why is my PDF asking for a password?

Many banks protect statement PDFs. The password is usually explained in the email that came with the statement, for example your date of birth or part of your mobile number. It is used only on your device to open the file.

How are categories decided?

From words in each transaction's description, such as SWIGGY for food or NACH and EMI for loans. They are best guesses; you can change any transaction's category and the totals update.
